| "God was using [a generous supporter] to share her resources so we could stay in ministry." |
| -- Dr. Jim Holsclaw and his wife, Jan, Wycliffe missionaries for more than 20 years and recipients of an endowment |
Jim and Jan Holsclaw have been members of Wycliffe for more than 20 years. They are responsible for training and preparing new members for their first assignments. They have been richly blessed through gift planning.
In 1993, the Holsclaws received an unexpected letter informing them they were the recipients of an endowment created by one of their partners.
"We were just shocked," Jim says. "It was like we were the recipients of God's grace to us through this woman. God was using her to share her resources so we could stay in ministry."
The Holsclaws still receive support from that gift today -- 12 years after their partner went to be with the Lord.
Support scholarships, training, transportation and more
Through an endowment, your gift is placed into an income-generating fund, and all income directly supports the Wycliffe-affiliated ministry or project of your choice. Wycliffe Foundation preserves the capital, allowing your endowment to continue in perpetuity.
With an endowment, you can support student scholarships, helping future translators get into the field more quickly. Or, perhaps your heart lies in getting translators to the field safely. Your endowment can be used to purchase new missionary aircraft or much-needed boats in remote locations. You select which aspect of Bible translation, linguistics training or literacy efforts your gift endows.
