James and Mary Beth Moorehead have been Wycliffe missionaries for more than 30 years. For their financial support, they depend on the regular generosity of fellow believers.
One family -- Frank and his wife, Cynthia -- has been especially generous. When Frank was a new believer, James spent a lot of time with him, mentoring him spiritually. Frank and Cynthia responded by funding a significant portion of the Mooreheads' monthly income for many years. They also helped financially when James needed surgery.
Support for years to come
But Frank is 80 years old, and Cynthia isn't far behind. Frank's health isn't what it used to be. Not long ago, James and Mary Beth were apprehensive about the continuation of their support.
"We were concerned that if something happened to Frank and his wife, we'd be out of the ministry," Mary Beth says.
Monthly support guaranteed in perpetuity
Frank calmed their fears. Working with one of the Wycliffe Foundation's gift planning associates, Frank used more than $94,000 in appreciated stock to fund a Missionary Support Plan (MSP), designating the Mooreheads as beneficiaries.
The result? The amount of monthly support the Mooreheads regularly receive from Frank and Cynthia will continue beyond their lifetimes. And when the Mooreheads go to be with the Lord, the remainder will continue to fund Bible translation efforts.
"When our dear friends left a legacy through a missionary support plan, they gave us wonderful gifts: a beautiful remembrance of them, a greater sense of security and the blessing of income for years to come," Mary Beth says.
Now James and Mary Beth can do what God called them to do: work to bring the joy of God's Word to people without the Bible in their heart language.

How an MSP works
Through this irrevocable agreement, you can provide guaranteed monthly support to the missionary(ies) of your choice with a gift of $10,000 or more in cash or securities.
Current-year tax benefits
Your contributions are eligible for current-year tax deductions. The assets go into an interest-bearing account, and support continues while the missionary(ies) serves with Wycliffe until funds are exhausted.
Flexible time frame
You can set up an MSP to begin immediately or, if funded through a bequest, to begin and continue after your lifetime. If the missionary(ies) leaves Wycliffe before funds are exhausted, the remainder will be used where needed most.
